Lawn Fertilization Field Manager

We are currently hiring a Lawn Fertilization Manager to oversee the scheduling, routing, and execution of lawn fertilization services. The role also involves meeting with customers, addressing concerns, and managing a team of field technicians in assigned service areas. Position Overview

The Lawn Fertilization Manager is responsible for leading the field operations of our lawn fertilization and pest control services. This includes ensuring service excellence, driving efficiency, maintaining safety and regulatory compliance, and delivering superior customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and an ability to motivate and manage a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

Field Operations Management

  • Responsible for departmental growth and quality assurance.

  • Oversee the scheduling, routing, and execution of lawn fertilization and pest control services.

  • Monitor technicians’ daily performance, ensuring timely and high-quality service delivery.

  • Conduct field audits and random inspections to assess service quality and adherence to company standards.

  • Team Leadership and Development

  • Manage, train, and mentor field technicians to enhance their skills and job performance.

  • Lead team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates on policies or procedures.

  • Provide constructive feedback and recognize high-performing team members.

  • Customer Relations

  • Address escalated customer concerns or complaints, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolutions.

  • Collaborate with customer service representatives to improve client satisfaction and retention.

  • Assist in customer education regarding lawn care and pest control services when necessary.

  • Foster a customer-centric culture within the team, emphasizing the importance of delivering exemplary service and building long-term client relationships.

  • Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure all field staff follow safety protocols, wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhere to regulatory guidelines.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to pesticide and fertilizer applications.

  • Conduct regular safety training sessions and maintain compliance documentation.

  • Operational Efficiency

  • Order and maintain equipment, supplies, and materials required for day-to-day operations.

  • Analyze field operations data to identify areas for improvement in productivity, route optimization, and resource allocation.

  • Monitor and maintain trucks and application equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.

  • Implement process improvements to reduce costs while maintaining service quality.

  • Reporting and Documentation

  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as job completion rates, customer satisfaction scores, and technician productivity.

  • Maintain accurate records of chemical usage, technician certifications, and equipment maintenance.

  • Collaborate with upper management to develop operational strategies and budget recommendations.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; a Structural Pest Control or Agriculture applicator license and a degree in business management, agriculture, or a related field are preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in lawn fertilization services, pest control, or related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.

  • Proven ability to manage teams and handle operational logistics.

  • Certifications:

  • Additional certifications in lawn care or pest control are a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Proficiency in scheduling software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Analytical mindset with a focus on operational efficiency and problem-solving.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
